HR strategy for researchers HRS4R

Institutions that wish to implement the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers at their institutions can join the process at any time and apply for the European “HR Excellence in Research” distinction. Implementation of the principles of the Charter and the Code is done on a voluntary basis

The Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences, declaring its support for the principles contained in the Charter and Code, and thus joining the “HR Excellence in Research” logo, undertook to carry out an internal analysis to assess the extent to which its functioning is consistent with the Charter and Code, and prepared an HR Strategy and Action Plan defining the implementation of European standards on working conditions for researchers.

The Declaration of Accession and the HR Strategy and Action Plan were prepared in 2018.

In order for the University to obtain the “Human Resources Excellence in Research” logo, the Rector Andrzej Rokita, appointed a Team for the implementation of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers at the Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences (as amended by the Rector’s Order No. 66/2017 of October 4, 2017) by Order No. 27/2017 on 16.05.2017.

Schedule of tasks of the team
  1. Analysis of the guidelines in the Charter and Code (conducted in June-July 2017).
  2. Comparison of the guidelines contained in the Charter and Code with nationwide legal acts and internal documents in force at the University (conducted in July-October 2017).
  3. Awareness campaign (conducted in September-October 2017).
  4. Conducting a survey to solicit opinions on the working conditions and professional development of scientists (conducted in the month of October 2017).
  5. Verification and gap analysis, o working out an action plan (conducted in November-December 2017).
  6. Development of HR Strategy (developed in January-March 2018).

In the period from May 2017 to March 2018, 11 meetings of team members or working groups were held.
On March 27, 2018, the Implementation Coordinator presented the prepared HR Strategy and Action Plan to the College of Rectors.
