In the period of 17-28 May, 2019, prof. Jean Neils-Strunjas from Western Kentucky University (USA) visited AWF Wrocław. Together with prof. Jason Crandall and prof. Matthew Shake, prof. Jean Neils-Strunjas cooperates with prof. Grzegorz Żurek, head of the Department of Neurocognitive Science at AWF Wrocław, within the framework of BINGOCIZE project.
The visit of prof. Strunjas was carried out in the frames of implementation of Polish-American scientific research among seniors, devoted to the use of a mobile application to stimulate their physical activity, raise the level of health education and prevent social exclusion. In January 2018, as a result of the efforts of prof. Grzegorz Żurek, University School of Physical Education in Wrocław, signed a license agreement with Western Kentucky University for the use of the BINGOCIZE application in research among Polish seniors. Scientific research with the use of this application in the USA has so far received financial support of several million dollars from various institutions, both state and national, including the American National Institute of Health. BINGOCIZE is also very popular in nursing homes, where it is successfully used in helping the elderly inhabitants.

During her visit to AWF, prof. Jean Neils-Strunjas also met the Rector, prof. Andrzej Rokita. During the meeting, issues related to the visit itself, the guest’s reception of our University and the possibilities of cooperation between our Universities were discussed. Prof. Strunjas also visited the University campus, gave a lecture to our students, as well as got acquainted with EDUball / BRAINball educational balls and the possibility of their use in learning English and Spanish. Moreover, she was very impressed with “Przewietrz się na Olimpijskim with AWF Wrocław” event, in which she also took part.
The visit of prof. Strunjas is a preview of another visit from a member of the BINGOCIZE team: in October 2019 prof. Jason Crandall, the originator and creator of the BINGOCIZE application, will visit Wrocław.
You are welcome to join us during other open meetings with visiting professors at the University School of Physical Education in Wroclaw.
