Dr Dorota Wójtowicz graduated with distinction in physical rehabilitation from the Faculty of Physical Education at the University School Of Physical Education in Wrocław obtaining a master’s degree in 1994. In 2002 she obtained the Doctor of Science in Physical Education degree. In 2012 she gained occupational therapy teacher qualifications (the ENOTE project).
In 1994 she started her scientific and didactic work at the Unit of Social Pediatrics and Children's Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute at the University School of Physical Education in Wrocław working first as an assistant, and then, since 2003 until now, as an adjunct professor at the Diagnostics in Motor Organ Dysfunctions Unit at the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy in Motor Organ Dysfunctions at the Faculty of Physiotherapy.
She is the author and co-author of thirty seven scientific publications (both Polish and foreign). Her scientific activity is concentrated around issues concerning: functional diagnostics and physiotherapy programming in paediatrics, neurological diseases in children, therapeutic rehabilitation methods, the objectification of spontaneous motorics methods evaluation in infants and children and occupational therapy with emphasis on the area of paediatrics.
She has promoted fifty seven masters of physiotherapy.
She has been improving her scientific and didactic skills and tools by participating in several internships: at the Clinic’s Counselling Centre of Social Paediatrics at the First Department of Paediatrics and at the Allergy and Cardiology Clinic at the Wrocław Medical University (in 1994 and 1995), at the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Physiotherapy at the Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic (in 1996), at the Children’s Centre at the German Academy for Developmental Rehabilitation in Munich, Germany (in 1998 and 1999), at the Second District Health System of Central Macedonia at the Faculty of Physiotherapy at the George Papanikolaou General Hospital of Thessaloniki in Thessaloniki, Greece, at the The Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (in 2010), at the Amirs Gym Malaysia Training Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (in 2014) and at the Centre for Children in Singapore (in 2014).
She has completed many postgraduate courses in the field of diagnostics and children therapy.
She has vast practical experience as a physiotherapist, gained at the Clinic’s Counselling Centre for Children Developmental Disorders at the First Department and Paediatrics Clinic at the Wrocław Medical University, at the clinic of the “Promyk Słońca” foundation and the “LuxMed” clinic.
She has performed many organisational, academic and departmental duties, including: a member, the Secretary and the Deputy Manager of the Faculty Recruitment Board, a student supervisor, a member of the Faculty Committee on Budget and Finance, a member of the Practical Examination Committee, a member of the Subcommittee for the Evaluation of the Theoretical Examination Results, a member of the Senate Committee for the Evaluation of Administration Performance, a member of the Faculty Committee for Education Quality, a member and the Head of the Bachelor Examination Committee, a member of the Organisational Committee of the 8th International Days of Physiotherapy. In 2006 - 2012 she was a member of the Faculty of Physiotherapy Senate and in 2013 - 2016 - a member of the Council of the Faculty of Physiotherapy.
